The charter fleet based at Z Pier offers a wide range of experiences, including fishing charters, harbour cruises, self-skippered boat hire, party cruises and skippered tours. From small boats to larger luxury vessels, there’s an option to suit every adventure.
Z Pier is the gateway to the Hauraki Gulf and beyond, connecting thousands of people with the water every year. It is also home to a range of boating organisations, marine businesses and activities, including boat sales and leasing, Auckland Dragon Boat Association, the Etchells racing fleet and Sailability.
Z Pier is the commercial heart of Westhaven Marina – the Southern Hemisphere’s largest recreational marina. Home to more than 2,000 vessels, four yacht clubs and a vibrant boating community, Westhaven is an iconic part of Auckland’s waterfront.
Across the water are Silo Marina, a specialist superyacht facility, and Auckland Central Marina in the heart of Auckland’s waterfront precinct.

The Etchells racing fleet based at Z Pier provides a way to enjoy one-design racing that is fun, competitive and social. Whether you’re new to racing or looking to develop your skills, the Etchells fleet offers a great opportunity to improve your sailing in an accessible and supportive environment. The one-design rules help reduce costs and maintain a level playing field across the fleet, meaning race results come down to tactics, teamwork and sailing skill.
Dragon boating is a fun, social and active way to enjoy the harbour. Based at Z Pier, the Auckland Dragon Boat Association uses the sheltered waters of St Mary’s Bay and the area outside Westhaven Marina as training grounds, offering coaching, events and opportunities for paddlers of all experience levels.
