Silo Marina named NZMOA Awards finalist

Silo Marina has been named a finalist in the New Zealand Marina Operators Association (NZMOA) Awards – Marina of the Year category, recognising its continued contribution to Auckland’s superyacht sector and the wider marine and visitor economy.

Located in Auckland’s Wynyard Quarter, Silo Marina is New Zealand’s premier purpose-built superyacht marina, accommodating vessels up to 145 metres across eight berths. The marina provides specialist facilities and services including up to 800-amp shore power, customs and MPI clearance, fuel bunkering capability and 24/7 operational support.

Over the past two years, the marina team has continued to strengthen Silo Marina’s operational performance, customer experience and infrastructure. A revised rates structure has encouraged longer-term stays, contributing to 100% occupancy during the most recent season and reflecting the strong demand for Silo Marina’s specialist superyacht facilities and services.

The marina has also introduced a range of initiatives to enhance the experience for visiting vessels and crew, including The Crew Club, welcome packs, networking events and a Destination Auckland guide connecting visitors with local tourism, hospitality and marine services.

Operational improvements have included updated customer documentation and processes, advance booking deposits, a new online parking management system and enhanced in-house maintenance capability through Auckland Council’s wider marina network.

Silo Marina is also strengthening its environmental and industry contribution through its partnership with SeaKeepers, marine pollution response training, used engine oil recycling, Cans for Kai and ongoing work towards Clean Marina accreditation.

The NZMOA Awards recognise excellence and innovation across New Zealand’s marina industry. The winner of the Marina of the Year category will be announced at the NZMOA Awards Dinner on 24 September 2026.

We’re incredibly proud of our team and grateful to the NZMOA for recognising our work.
