Recently completed, ongoing, and upcoming maintenance work
Our ongoing maintenance programme continues to focus on improving safety, reliability and the overall experience for berth holders and visitors.
D, E and A pier pile sleeving
Pile sleeving work on D, E and A piers is now complete. The next stage of the programme will involve a follow-up underwater inspection of piles on the southern side of the marina, followed by replacement of any piles identified as requiring renewal.
Gangway lighting
Following a successful trial, we have selected a durable low-level lighting solution for the marina gangways that improves night-time visibility while directing light downwards onto the walking surface. Installation is scheduled to begin in early August 2026.
Gate replacement
Replacement of the glass sliding gates at F and F1 piers is now complete. The final remaining gate at T pier is expected to be installed by the end of September 2026, completing the marina-wide gate replacement programme.
Electrical replacement
Replacement of the older electrical distribution boards on the northern side of the marina is progressing. New stainless-steel enclosures and modern equipment will support a safer and more reliable power supply across the marina.
Three new distribution boards have already been installed at Z and J piers. Installation dates for the remaining boards along the northern side of the marina are still being finalised. Each installation will require a temporary one-day power outage for the affected pier, and berth holders will be notified in advance.
New mobile safety ladders
New, larger mobile safety ladders (pictured below) have now been delivered and will be installed at the start of each pier over the winter months as resources allow. These ladders are more stable and extend deeper into the water than the existing smaller mobile safety ladders located at the safety stations on each pier, providing improved access and safety during an emergency response.

Toilet block maintenance
Maintenance work on the Ponsonby Cruising Club toilet block is now complete (pictured below). Work will now move to the J pier toilet block as the next stage of the maintenance programme.
