Westhaven Marina recognised at International Marina Awards

Westhaven Marina has been awarded Highly Commended at the prestigious 2025 Marina Industries Association (MIA) Marina of the Year Awards, an international programme recognising excellence in marina management, operations, and customer service.

Announced at the MIA awards evening in Australia on 6 May, Westhaven placed as runner-up to Dubai Harbour Marina. The recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality service, safe and sustainable facilities, and a first-class experience for all berth holders.

“We were up against some stiff competition, and MIA judges said our submission was amazing – it was very close,” says Gareth Wilson, Marinas Manager.

The award follows a record-breaking result in Westhaven Marina’s 2025 customer satisfaction survey. Of the 512 respondents, 94% rated the marina five or higher on a seven-point scale – our highest overall score to date.

Key highlights from the 2025 survey include:

·         Staff satisfaction continues to rise, with 95% of customers reporting satisfaction, up 2%* from 2024. As in previous years, openness, friendliness, and helpfulness were identified as key drivers of satisfaction, with positive feedback received across all staff groups, from dockmasters to customer service representatives.

·         Facilities satisfaction remains strong and stable, with 92% of respondents rating Westhaven’s facilities at five or higher, up 1%*.

·         Personal safety satisfaction remains exceptionally high, with 97% of customers expressing satisfaction — consistent with last year’s result.

·         Communication channels show steady improvement:

o    Email remains the most preferred communication method at 94% (up 1%*).

o    Direct communication with staff follows at 85% (up 2%*).

o    Satisfaction with operational news via the Westhaven newsletter rose to 82% (up 2%), and satisfaction with other news increased to 80% (up 1%).

*Comparisons are made against 2024 survey results.

The survey provides key insights that guide continuous improvement and inform Westhaven Marina’s annual Statement of Intent.
