Customer satisfaction survey 2025 – your feedback addressed

Thank you again to everyone who shared feedback through our customer satisfaction survey. Your responses help us understand what’s working well and where we can continue to improve the day-to-day experience at Westhaven Marina.

Marina operations and security

One of the key themes raised in the customer satisfaction survey was marina security and how we help keep berth holders, vessels, and facilities safe.

As mentioned in our previous newsletter, the marina operations building at 137 Westhaven Drive has been replaced and is now fully operational. The new building provides improved, purpose-designed space for our dockmasters and maintenance teams, supporting more efficient day-to-day operations across the marina.

Alongside our existing security patrols and access control systems, the marina’s CCTV network has been upgraded as part of the new building. The updated technology provides enhanced monitoring and coverage, helping to keep berth holders, vessels, and facilities safe.

Ablutions refurbishment update

Improving the condition and usability of our ablution facilities was a clear priority raised by berth holders. In our last newsletter, we advised that limited refurbishment work on the ablutions facilities at J pier, Q pier, and under the Ponsonby Cruising Club was planned to begin before Christmas. While this work was unable to start at that time, planning has progressed and refurbishment is now scheduled to begin in the coming months.

The upgrades will focus on improving durability, comfort, and overall presentation. Further details, including timing and any access impacts, will be shared closer to the start of the work.

Trolley availability and use

Another recurring theme in the survey was difficulty finding trolleys at busy times, along with concerns about trolleys occasionally being left unclean or unavailable when needed.

With the peak boating season now underway, demand for trolleys is high. Across the marina, there are approximately 160 trolleys available – around one trolley per ten berths – and we want to ensure they remain accessible, well maintained, and available for all berth holders.

Our dockmasters work hard to distribute trolleys evenly throughout the marina at the end of each day, checking that they are clean, in good working order, and correctly positioned at trolley bays and gates. However, we have noticed instances where multiple trolleys are taken at once, not returned after use, or used inappropriately, which can limit availability for others.

To help address the issues raised in the survey, we ask that berth holders please follow these guidelines:

·        Trolleys are for berth holders only: Trolleys are provided for marina customers and are not to be used by contractors.

·        Please use only what you need: Taking multiple trolleys at once reduces availability for others, particularly during peak times.

·        Return trolleys promptly: Once finished, please return trolleys to the nearest trolley bay or gate.

·        Keep trolleys clean and free of waste: Trolleys must not be used for rubbish, oil, or other materials that could damage them or create safety hazards.

·        Report any issues: If a trolley is damaged or unclean, please let our team know so it can be addressed promptly.

·        Keep trolleys within the marina: For everyone’s benefit, trolleys should remain on marina grounds at all times.

Dockmasters may request that trolleys be returned if they are being misused or are limiting availability for others.

Your feedback continues to play an important role in shaping improvements across the marina. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to address these priorities.
