Covid-19 update & FAQ

COVID LEVEL 4 IMPACT

Following the Government’s announcement to raise the alert level to 4, Westhaven Marina is now closed to any non-essential services.

With the COVID-19 alert being raised to level 4, this means:

  • Unless essential, you should be staying at home as directed by the government
  • All non-essential travel is to stop
  • There will be no restrictions to marina access, but we ask you carefully consider the above points before coming to Westhaven Marina
  • Wynyard Crossing Bridge is going to remain in an upright position as it is manually operated and not an essential service

We will be operating remotely via phone and email. You can contact us by email info@westhaven.co.nz or call us (0800 627 462), we have measures in place to be able to assist you as best we can.

Security staff are an essential service and will continue to patrol Westhaven Marina. They will keep an eye on all vessels and respond to any issues that arise at the marina.

Is the Westhaven Marina Office open for walk ins?

We’re following the advice of the Ministry of Health and Auckland Council and practicing physical distancing. In order to be able to do this effectively, we ask that you please do not come into the Westhaven Marina office. Instead, please email info@westhaven.co.nz or call us (0800 627 462), we have measures in place and we will be able to assist you.

Why you can’t self-isolate on your vessel within Westhaven Marina:

The risk to others is too great. Even the simple task of touching the keypad or gate to get on or off the pier puts other users at risk.

If you were to self-isolate for 14 days or more within the marina, you would be needing to use public facilities e.g. bathroom, laundry etc.

Please understand our stance on this. We appreciate this is a really difficult time, and we will work with our berth holders to help assist where we can.

How are we enforcing this?

We have our security monitoring the marina at present and should there be any need to escalate, it will become a police matter.

Can I self-isolate on my boat outside of Westhaven Marina?

Yes, you can self-isolate for 14 days on board your vessel out at sea or moored off the coast of New Zealand.
