Marina project progress
Two major projects detailed in the 2013 Westhaven Plan are in sharp focus for the first half of this year. These are the Westhaven Marine Village and the Westhaven Promenade.
Firstly Panuku has commissioned Match Realty to lease space in the proposed Westhaven Marine Village, Project 6 in the Westhaven Plan, and this has been received very well by the marine industry. This project needs to be successfully leased in order to progress to consent and construction, and we are optimistic of seeing this occur
As announced at the Westhaven Forum at the end of 2017, the design and construction of Project 1, the next stage of the Westhaven Promenade is in the hands of project management company RCP which is working through design and specification, looking at resilience, aesthetics, choice of materials, and design especially at pier gates and in carparks. We will update you with more detail on this project shortly.
In the meantime, Auckland Council is also continuing its preparations for the St Marys Bay and Masefield Beach Water Quality Improvement Project. When it comes to fruition, this will mean significant water quality improvements for Westhaven Marina, in particular for St Marys Bay.
Keen to hear first hand about these proposed projects? The next Westhaven Forum is pencilled in for the evening of Tuesday 8 May. This is subject to change and the time and venue will be confirmed closer to the time. Westhaven Forums are well attended by customers, local residents and those from the marine industry who are ken to be updated on projects and plans for the marina. You can contact us at any time with questions or feedback.
