Pile Mooring Redevelopment (Stage 1) – With Resource Consent granted we are one step closer to construction. We have released an Expression of Interest to the industry for the design and build of both the new reclamation and the new marina pontoons. With the marina at full capacity, the introduction of 120 new serviced berths is great news. With a couple of exceptions due to draft and size, most pile berth customers will be accommodated in the reconfigured remaining pile berth area. We will continue to keep customers and users of the marina informed as work programmed to start, particularly around the planning of the closure of the marina’s western entrance.

The Westhaven Promenade (Stage 2) – The site is now being established and construction will start in early August. A sequence of works, called a staging plan, and updated visuals, have been published on the project page. If you are visiting you will notice that sections of the carpark will be closed off at different points of the build, and that pier access will also be reconfigured with additional pontoons going in from July. Please look out for signage and if you are driving, walking or cycling, be careful around the work sites.

The Westhaven Marine Village – The Westhaven Marine Village has strong tenant interest and resource consent. This iteration of the project is smaller than previous proposals, and will extend from just south of the marina office, to before the bathroom building by the Sales Pier. We will advise you when timeframes are confirmed. Associated with this we are starting to investigate a project to reconfigure J Pier as a pier where boats for sale can be berthed in public view. Updated visuals are now available on the project page.

Enabling works for the Harbour Bridge Pathway – These maintenance and upgrade works are required to prepare Westhaven for the arrival of the walking/cycling route across the Harbour Bridge. We are now improving the cycleway connections on Curran St, installing CCTV, and upgrading water supply and sewage infrastructure. Soon we will be lifting the seawall to the east of the Harbour Bridge by 600mm. We aim to complete this work in 2019. All of these works will significantly improve and upgrade the marina and its ability to be resilient and secure.

The St Marys Bay – Masefield Beach Water Quality Improvement Project – this is an important Auckland Council infrastructure project that will significantly improve water quality within Westhaven, in particular at St Marys Bay, which is a hub of recreational small craft boating in Auckland. It is awaiting Resource Consent.
New project: Silo Marina Optimisation Project
A project to optimise the Super Yacht berths and services associated with the biggest berths In Auckland has been underway since before the start of the 2018 summer. The works took a break during the busier summer months and will recommence during May with the extension of two of the finger berths, and the addition of additional electrical capacity along with replacement parking and storage onsite.
