Westhaven Project Updates
Ever since we drafted and consulted on the Westhaven Plan in 2012-13, Panuku Development Auckland (and formerly Waterfront Auckland) has endeavored to keep you, as berth holders, tenants, customers, and local residents, informed on progress of the projects underway.
We are very pleased to be able to tell you that several projects will soon come to fruition.
Pile Mooring Redevelopment (Stage 1) – the proposed conversion of some of the pile mooring berths to modern serviced berths for which there is a shortage in Auckland. Associated with this project would be an extension of the northern causeway and closure of Westhaven’s smaller western entrance.
The Westhaven Promenade (Stage 2) – the second stage of the 5m wide wooden boardwalk will complete the waterfront link between Sails Restaurant and St Marys Bay, passing Piers K to Q and including upgrade and modernization of pier access and carpark configuration for these piers and nearby R Pier.
The Westhaven Marine Village – to be located in the western part of Westhaven Marina, and a home for marine business including chandleries and other services
Skypath enabling works – works that are necessary for Skypath but also practical upgrades for Westhaven including reconfiguration of the park and road to the west of the Harbour Bridge, and remediation of the sea wall on the northern side to prevent regular inundations due to climate change.
The St Marys Bay – Masefield Beach Water Quality Improvement Project – this is an important Auckland Council infrastructure project that will significantly improve water quality within Westhaven, in particular at St Marys Bay, which is a hub of recreational small craft boating in Auckland.
Westhaven Forums are held several times a year, and invitiations are issued by email to all those on our mailing list. We also welcome questions and feedback. Please email Zoe Hawkins, Marina Communications. If you are not on our mailing list, please subscribe or update your details by clicking here
